Daniel Little is vice president for academic affairs at Bucknell University and professor of philosophy. He received his A.B. and B.S. from the University of Illinois and his Ph.D. in Philosophy from Harvard University (1977). His research interests fall within the philosophy and methodology of the social sciences, with particular focus on empirical Asian studies. He is author of The Scientific Marx; Understanding Peasant China; Varieties of Social Explanations; Microfoundations, Method, and Causation; and On the Reliability of Economic Models (edited), and is currently writing a book called Development Ethics.
