The Sixth Extinction: An Unnatural History

This Thursday, The New Yorker magazine staff writer Elizabeth Kolbert and Michael Novacek, senior vice president and provost of science at the American Museum of Natural History, will meet at the Museum to discuss Kolbert’s book The Sixth Extinction: An Unnatural History, which chronicles what scientists are predicting to be the most devastating extinction event since the asteroid impact that wiped out large dinosaurs. Science writer and video journalist Flora Lichtman will moderate. A book signing will follow the discussion. Kolbert is also the author of Field Notes from a Catastrophe: Man, Nature, and Climate Change. For details about the event, click here:
