| Annotation: | Moon analyzes how nature is appropriated in the Japanese village revitalization movement (muraokoshi undo). The author identifies how nature as a tourist commodity requires a conceptual shift allowing regional products, cultural/historical items, and natural resources to be exploited. Moon concludes by saying that this commodification process, which had previously been limited only to urban areas, is now bringing the explotation of nature to the local villiages. |
