Annotation:Focusing on scavengers in modern Third World cities and highlighting their role in systems of production and reproduction, Blincow argues that understanding scavenging requires a cross-cultural, historical approach. Using case studies in Japan, England, and France to consider scavenging in historical and theoretical terms, he contributes to discussions about scavenging and class in urban Third World contexts.
