Annotation:By critically examining sexual, geological, aesthetic, and occupational structures of women’s lives in the Hu’nan and Guangdong provinces of China, Finnane describes how environmental differences coincide with cultural variances. She notices how the life experiences of these women were conditioned by the environment and how these women have interpreted the environment in relation to their own lifeways.
